Upon receiving her Masters from Columbia University, Hawatmeh got her start by working in Venture Capital to learn how to navigate the waters having been inspired to launch her own business. She set to work raising capital despite entering the cutthroat, primarily male-dominated tech-industry, a ‘non-technical’ female entrepreneur.

First impressions are fleeting because since then she has reaped numerous awards for her achievements, and sits on the board of the Digital Media Licensing Association. Hawatmeh manages partnerships and sales from Fortune 1000s all the way down to the freelance graphic designer. This proactive, meticulous managing style of hers is what has resulted in Scopio, which stands for Scope it Out, to become an image library of over 200,000 images from photo creators in over 150 countries, and continues to grow every day.
